Privacy notice

This site collects almost nothing, and this notice is short because of it. No cookies, no analytics, and its pages make no third-party requests from your browser.

Who is responsible

Scope: this notice covers the ganek.io website only. Self-hosted Ganek instances are operated by the companies that run them - they are the controllers for their hiring data, and their own privacy notices apply.

Server logs

When you visit this site, our hosting infrastructure processes your IP address, browser user agent, and the time and page of the request in technical server logs. We use these solely to deliver the site securely and to diagnose abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Logs are deleted within 14 days. To rate-limit waitlist signups, our own server additionally keeps the requesting IP address in memory for up to one hour. Hosting provider: Hetzner Online GmbH, Gunzenhausen, Germany, processing on our behalf under a data processing agreement.

You can object to this processing at any time (Art. 21 GDPR) by writing to the address above.

The waitlist

If you join the waitlist, we process your email address and the time of your signup and confirmation, based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), for exactly one purpose: telling you once when the hosted version of Ganek launches. Providing your email address is voluntary - without it you simply can't join the waitlist.

• Signup is double opt-in: nothing is stored as confirmed until you click the link in the confirmation email.
• We use Loops, Inc. (USA) to store the list and send these emails, under a data processing agreement. We send Loops your email address and nothing else; when you open its emails or click the confirmation link, Loops also processes the technical data of those requests (IP address, browser). Transfers to the USA are safeguarded by Loops' EU-US Data Privacy Framework certification and EU standard contractual clauses - a copy of the safeguards is available from us on request.
• No newsletter, no sharing, no enrichment. One launch email.
• You can withdraw at any time: use the unsubscribe link in any email from us or write to the address above. We delete the list after the launch email has been sent, and individual entries immediately on request.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection, and the right to withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; ours is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit.
